Websense and Network Appliance Collaborate

Employee Internet management (EIM) vendor Websense Inc. today announced it has teamed with network-attached data access and content delivery solutions vendor Network Appliance Inc.. According to the companies, Websense and Network Appliance are offering customers a platform that eliminates redundant and unproductive Web traffic, while greatly reducing the load on the network.


Websense Enterprise v4.2, NetCache(TM) Edition, combines flexible, sophisticated Internet filtering software with high-performance, scalable NetCache content delivery solutions. By coupling Websense Enterprise with NetCache appliances, customers can boost network performance by caching frequently visited Web pages and removing unproductive, bandwidth-intensive content.


The Websense and Network Appliance joint solution will be available in June 2001. As part of its rollout, both companies will launch joint marketing and sales efforts targeted primarily at enterprise customers.
