The ability to quickly deploy applications and services is seen as key for efficient ASP operations. Infrastructure independent software vendor Abridean (Halifax, Nova Scotia) takes a step toward addressing that need with the announcment of its Abridean Provision Anything Framework.
As its name implies, the goal of the framework, which is an addition to AbrideanProvisor software, allows service providers to provision anything in a data center using one set of guidelines and tools.
“In their day-to-day operations, SPs and Enterprises assign and manage many
complex resources for companies, groups, departments or users, including such
things as enterprise applications, the desktop, servers, firewalls, VPNs, and
routers,” said Sean Sears, CEO and president of Abridean. “Performing these
tasks is simplified when the organization is using one platform to manage the
interaction between these core technologies.”
AbrideanProvisor is an XML-based application provisioning and management platform designed to automate and simplify the provisioning and management of hosted enterprise applications. The Provision
Anything Framework is a fully extensible architecture that integrates
with any component in the data center. The company says that for simple integration, customers can
implement the Provision Anything Framework themselves. For more complex integration work, customers can
use systems integrators, other software vendors or Abridean’s professional
services team to build their own provisioning agents.
Abridean reports that Microsoft recently recognized its achievements in technology by naming
abrideanProvisor as an award finalist for “Best Use of XML.”
