Atomz, a San Francisco-based ASP that specializes in Web-native content management and site search services, today announced that it has achieved record results for the quarter that ended June 30.
As a privately held company, Atomz doesn’t release actual revenue figures, but the company did say that sales for the recent quarter were up 36 percent over the same periold last year. Revenues for the first half of 2002 were up 61 percent over the same period in 2001, the company reports.
During the second quarter, content management products accounted for 48 percent of revenue, search engine license subscriptions were 45 percent, and implementation and integration services were 7 percent, the company said. The value of the average new contract grew more than 280 percent compared, which indicates, according to Atomz, that its focus on the enterprise market has taken effect.
“Constrained IT budgets have led customers to abandon server-based approaches and choose Web-native products for managing Web sites, providing a superior and rapid return on investment,” said Steve Kusmer, CEO and co-founder of Atomz.
“With vendors of traditional, server-based solutions reporting a decrease in revenues this quarter, our results reinforce that enterprise companies are increasingly looking to Web-native solutions as a way to meet their budgets and reduce development risks,” noted Kusmer.
Atomz reports the following second quarter highlights:
- Thirty-two new customers purchased Atomz products, including Check Point Software, Clear Channel Entertainment and Princess Cruises.
- The company launched Atomz Promote, which is designed to integrate its site search and Web content management applications, allowoing editorial managers and content editors the capabilities in creating and targeting specific content to site search requests (see Atomz Promote Promises Results
). - Product enhancements to Atomz Publish and Atomz Search were announced and deployed during weekly product improvement cycles. For example, Atomz Publish now includes XML data import and export support.
