Personalized Web service Planet Direct added AT&T WorldNet to its list of Internet service
provider affiliates Tuesday in a strategic alliance that gives WorldNet
customers direct access to Planet Direct’s offerings.

Under terms of the alliance, AT&T will power a Web site, www.yourworldnet.com, where WorldNet
subscribers have access to Planet Direct’s services. They include
personalized content, categorized channels and community features like news
headlines, real-time stock quotes, sports and entertainment information,
and localized content for more than 380 U.S. cities.

Hans Hawrysz, Planet Direct’s chief executive officer and president, said
customization is a growing trend and leads to more frequent visits by
members.

“The ability to create a customized Internet start page is an increasingly
important tool for both new and experienced Web users, and we’re thrilled
that AT&T WorldNet Service has recognized Planet Direct as the superior
service for its growing membership,” he said.

“Compared to other leading Web portals, our members visit Planet Direct
with greater frequency and duration,” he added. “These metrics, combined
with the flexibility and customization features inherent in our service,
provide AT&T WorldNet Service with an attractive incentive for both
attracting new members and retaining existing ones.”

Planet Direct, a subsidiary of CMGI, offers its personalization service to
over 300 ISPs, focusing on the local market. The company reportedly reaches
more than 3 million Internet users.
