Concentric Targets Southern California Market With Latest Acquisition

Concentric Network Corp. announced today it acquired Delta Internet Services, Inc., an Anaheim, CA-based Internet services and hosting provider.

Delta Internet Services, which also goes by the name DeltaNet, provides dial-up and dedicated access, Web application development and design services, and a suite of Web hosting solutions.

Concentric said the company has several thousand business customers, including local real estate companies with which DeltaNet has partnered to design Internet Ready Buildings (IRBs)–multi-tenant commercial buildings that feature high-speed dedicated access using Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL).

Under the acquisition, Concentric said it will gain a new co-location data center to service Southern California businesses, along with key sales, engineering, and marketing personnel.

The Cupertino, CA-based provider of IP-based solutions plans to integrate DeltaNet’s network operation into its existing network.

“Concentric now has a commanding position in the largest regional market in the U.S. through its acquisition of InterNex in
Northern California and DeltaNet in Southern California,” said Henry R. Nothhaft, chairman, president and chief executive officer
of Concentric Network.

“This acquisition also helps to further position us as a leading national provider of Internet and IP network services to the business market. We can now bring our full range of nationwide VPN and other value-added IP services to DeltaNet customers.”

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
