Corio Announces Development on Demand Service

Looking to bring a utility model to software deployment and operation, Corio Inc. , a San Carlos, Calif.-based enterprise ASP, today announced Corio Development on Demand, an enterprise application development solution.

Available for a fixed monthly fee, the goal of the service is to help companies reduce the cost, time and skilled resources required to support enterprise application development. The pay-as-you-go service is designed to deliver leading enterprise applications from independent software vendors (ISVs). Corio reports that customers are able to scale the service as their needs evolve, defer expensive infrastructure costs and accelerate projects.

The Corio Development on Demand platform is designed to provide customers with a better understanding of the exact architecture and sizing requirements for production. In five days, Corio said, IT organizations or systems integrators are live with a secure, fully configured and patched enterprise application development environment.

“The cost savings and efficiencies of on-demand services are dramatic,” said George Kadifa, chairman and CEO at Corio. “Our customers are able to scale and adjust their investment in expensive IT assets as needed.” The platform also enables customers to validate their systems architecture and make more informed decisions regarding production requirements before they buy, according to Kadifa.

Corio Development on Demand provides the following services for leading enterprise applications:

  • S, M, L Class configurations
  • Application architecture, design and provisioning
  • 5 day “go-live”
  • Hardware and application installation and patching
  • End-to-end infrastructure hosting
