ASP-News has learned that Ensim Corporation will announce two new partner programs and a suite of solutions for ISPs and ASPs tomorrow in Orlando.
First is Ensim RackConnect, a strategic partner program for Internet infrastructure vendors desiring to key in on technology constraints which currently limit Web-hosting, content distribution and ASPs from building highly scalable businesses.
Vikram Mehta, vice president of marketing, said Alteon and Redback Networks are the first companies to become RackConnect partners.
“We plan to announce a number of partners very shortly,” he said. “The ability to scale very quickly is a key issue.”
Rack Connect offers its partners remote access to the RackConnect Lab, where infrastructure vendors can test interoperability and integrate their products with Ensim’s products; access to Ensim’s engineering team and its infrastructure solutions marketing team and co-marketing opportunities to promote the jointly developed hosting infrastructure solutions to mutual service providers.
Ensim’s second partner program to be announced tomorrow is AppConnect, designed to help ISVs build successful ASP channels.
“We will work with software vendors to teach them how to wrapper applications themselves,” explained Mehta.
Current partner participants include Hewlett-Packard Company, Miva, Planet Intra and RSA Security.
Mehta explained that assisting ISVs with building ASP channels will not take away from Ensim’s revenue stream. “The bulk of our revenue comes from private servers,” he told ASP-News.
Ensim is looking to work with over two dozen partners in AppConnect.
Also to be announced tomorrow is the Ensim instant family of products and services: Ensim ServerXchange 2.0, AppXchange 2.0 and GlobalXchange 2.0.
“Service providers are looking for a way to scale their businesses profitably and our mission is to help,” Mehta said. “The focus in past years of ISPs had been on tackling the bandwidth problem. But that is fixed so now we are working on how we can populate that bandwidth with richer content.”
But with tomorrow’s release of Ensim’s instant family of products, Ensim hopes to provide further solutions.
According to Mehta, ServerXchange allows Web hosting customers to give quality service while only charging for a piece of the provider as opposed to the entire network.
This service deployment platform instantly transforms a rack of servers into an efficient and simple-to-manage data center in a rack. According to the company, ServerXchange will be available mid-June. Pricing includes a one-time fee of $25,000 for service establishment plus $100 per month. A private server running non-ERP apps is $30 a month and private server running ERP apps is $300 a month.
AppXchange, as described by Mehta, is a repository of popular off-the-shelf apps. “It is very simple,” he said. “No recoding required. Pick up, drag and drop into the server and you’re in business.”
Packaged for instant provisioning, simplified management and accurate usage metering on a service providers network, pricing for apps available through AppXchange start at $1 per month, varying by application type.
“With GlobalXchange, we will target global service providers who want to provision services across global data centers from one network operations center,” Mehta said.
Available fourth quarter, GlobalXchange requires a one-time service establishment fee of $75,000 plus $1000 per month.
