Enterprise ASP eOnline, Inc. and B2B e-commerce platform provider Ariba Inc. yesterday entered into an agreement that would allow eOnline to host and resell Ariba B2B e-commerce solutions.
eOnline, Inc. will provide clients with efficient, streamlined trading mechanisms and commerce processes through the open, global Ariba B2B commerce platform. According to the companies, this will result in time and cost savings in a secure and fully-managed hosted environment.
Under this agreement, eOnline will act as an Ariba Hosting Alliance Provider and will resell and host the Ariba Buyer, ASP edition app with access to the value-added Ariba Commerce Services Network.
“By jointly providing the Ariba B2B Commerce Platform through the ASP model, clients have access to complete e-commerce solutions that allow them to start participating in the digital economy,” Adrian Ionel, chairman and chief executive officer, said.
In related company news, eOnline also acquired professional services company Chicago Consulting Partners, the systems integrator for Ariba Inc. B2B e-commerce solutions.
According to the companies, this acquisition will extend eOnline’s existing Ariba B2B e-commerce solutions to provide clients with top industry experts for designing and implementing Ariba solutions.
This acquisition also brings eOnline to a count of almost 60 Certified Ariba Engineers and certified trainers. Additionally, eOnline now has more than 20 Ariba clients.
According to Ionel, the synergy between the two organizations was very evident.
“Now our clients can benefit from having leading ASP expertise in conjunction with premiere Ariba certified services all under one roof,” he said.
