Managed hosting provider Exodus Communications (Nasdaq: EXDS) Tuesday says it likes working with Commtouch (Nasdaq: CTCH ) so much it has decided to extend its working relationship with the e-mail and messaging company.

The two companies have worked in the past on hosting services and Web-based administration.

As part of the new relationship, Santa Clara, Calif.-based Exodus will distribute Mountain View, Calif.-based Commtouch’s Hosted Exchange 2000, a high-end business messaging solution, and Open-Standards Messaging, a small business e-mail solution, to its worldwide customers.

“We are delighted to team up to provide our customers a complete solution for outsourcing their messaging so they can stay focused on their core business,” says Exodus chairman and CEO Ellen Hancock.

Hosted Exchange 2000 was built specifically for service providers to work within the world of Microsoft Exchange 2000. The service is targeted at all types of service providers including ISPs, ASPs, Data Centers and Telcos.

Commtouch says the xSPs can take advantage of the collaborative nature of the platform without making costly investments in hardware, software and development time.

Open-Standards Messaging is designed with the small business owner in mind. The platform takes advantage of wireless access (including WAP and I-Mode), SMS and unified messaging services.

“By working with Exodus, we can offer customers a state-of-the-art and more cost-effective service with greater economies of scale,” says Commtouch CEO Gideon Mantel. “We are extremely happy to already have begun to generate revenues for both companies.”
