Managed service provider (MSP) Loudcloud Inc. (Nasdaq:LDCL) today announced that Fox Sports has selected Loudcloud to manage the daily Internet operations of its Web site.

“We are pushing the envelope with the new Fox Sports Web site much like Fox has done on TV,” said Ross Levinsohn, FOXSports.com senior vice president and general manager. “We have focused on creating a site that is fresh and innovative. It is imperative that we provide our customers the best overall experience on the Internet, which is why we have enlisted Loudcloud to help manage the operations of our Web site.”

The new site features a selection of sports news, scores, headlines and features, localized TV listings, a Video Vault, plus interactive games, fantasy leagues, and personalizable content. Exclusive content from a variety of Fox Sports talent –including John Madden, Darrell Waltrip, Steve Lyons and Terry Bradshaw — is also a prominent feature of the site.

The foundation for FOXSports.com’s newly designed site is Loudcloud’s suite of Internet operations services to architect, deploy, manage and scale its Internet initiatives to meet its business needs. Underpinning all of Loudcloud’s services is the Opsware automation technology, which helps Loudcloud manage a diverse set of hardware, networking technology and software systems critical to Internet operations.

“We are completely focused on providing reliable Internet operations so our customers don’t have to divert time and attention away from their core business objectives,” said Ben Horowitz, CEO and co-founder of Loudcloud. “In the extremely competitive market of online sports, it is critical that FOXSports.com be up and running all the time. Loudcloud provides a cost-effective, flexible Internet infrastructure, enabling Fox Sports to focus on providing compelling, insightful sports news and features in new and innovative ways.”

Loudcloud offers a solution for outsourcing global Internet operations for enterprise companies, application service providers and large-scale Internet businesses. Loudcloud moves beyond basic hosting or consulting services with its Opsware technology to automate, scale and monitor Internet operation functions previously done by hand. Loudcloud manages its infrastructure network via a worldwide network of data centers and Network Operations Centers (NOCs) located in North America and Europe.
