GTE Guarantees Dedicated Internet Access

Confident in its ability to provide Internet access, GTE Internetworking Wednesday began offering a complete guarantee of its business Internet services.

The new service level guarantee provides businesses with credits for
service in the event they experience transmission delays, information loss,
or degradation in the network availability. In an effort to focus on
business customers, the guarantees are based on delays during business hours.

GTE’s dedicated Internet access customers
will receive one full day of credit if there is a network problem that
causes increased latency or packet loss.

“Because our network is engineered to be more than 99.9 percent reliable,
we can guarantee our customers a seamless Internet communication all the
time,” said Richard Kane, service line
director for GTE Internetworking’s managed connectivity service.

The guarantee covers areas over which GTE Internetworking has control,
including all equipment, wiring
and telephone circuits within and between GTE Internetworking’s Points of
Presence (POPs). It does not
include customer premise equipment, telephone circuits between customer
locations and GTE
Internetworking POPs and non-GTE Internetworking equipment or network
connections.
