Ikimbo, Broadbeam Team on Wireless Instant Communications

Ikimbo, Inc., is teaming with Broadbeam Corp. to offer an integrated solution that allows business users to share time-sensitive information over a broad range of wireless networks and mobile devices. The partnership addresses the growing demand for secure instant communication in field sales and service organizations, delivery services, and business-critical applications such as customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP).

Ikimbo’s Omniprise software has been integrated with Broadbeam’s wireless platform, allowing companies to deploy the wireless instant communication application, and Omniprise is also available using Broadbeam’s SystemsGO! managed services, which provide deployment and management of wireless applications.

“Broadbeam’s scalable, proven technology makes it a strong wireless platform for Ikimbo’s instant communication systems,” said Michael Firetti, senior vice president of sales at the Herndon, Va.-based Ikimbo.

Ikimbo’s Omniprise software is an Internet business-coordination platform that allows companies to deploy scalable, privately branded business-collaboration hubs to employees, partners and customers. Omniprise collaboration hubs are XML-based communication, file and application sharing networks that are deployable both internally and externally.

“Broadbeam’s customers will benefit from Ikimbo’s instant messaging technology as they can streamline communications and business processes,” said Tony Esposito, vice president of sales at Broadbeam. “After evaluating several IM products on the market, we were pleased to find Ikimbo was interested in delivering instant wireless communication capabilities to our customers.”

Broadbeam has partnered with such technology leaders as Palm and NTT DoCoMo and has more than ten years of wireless expertise and experience in delivering mobile solutions to industry giants including Worldcom, Sears and Telia.
