LAUNCH Media Inc. said Thursday it will
be the sole music content provider for free ISP NetZero.
Under the terms of the deal, LAUNCH (LAUN) also
acquired 62,410 shares of the recently listed NetZero for $1 million.
For the duration of the two-year deal, LAUNCH will be a featured
button on ZeroPort, a compact navigational tool that gives users swift
speed-dial to sites on the Internet for shopping, e-commerce, and other
services.
With ZeroPort, clients may access search, e-mail and browse features
without launching their browsers. Users may also receive information on
stocks, news and sports directly to the desktop bit ZeroPort.
“Our relationship with NetZero is part of LAUNCH’s continued commitment to
expand the audience of Internet users who receive LAUNCH.com exclusive
content,” said Dave Goldberg, CEO of LAUNCH. “NetZero’s 1.7 million
registered users will be an essential element that helps drive additional
traffic to LAUNCH.com.”
Currently, LAUNCH.com offers artist biographies, album and concert reviews
and one of the largest video libraries on the Web to its 2 million-plus
registered users.
NetZero completed its IPO two weeks ago, vaulting more than 80 percent above its offering price of $16.
