NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA–The TriZetto Group, Inc. , a leading provider of Internet-enabled application services and e-business platforms for the health care industry, announced today the signing of a seven-year contract with Maxicare Health Plans, Inc.
, a 425,000-member managed health care company. Under the terms of the agreement, TriZetto will provide Maxicare with both application services provider (ASP) and HealthWeb e-business solutions.

Additionally, this will allow Maxicare to access leading applications with minimal capital investment and predictable operating costs.”
Contracted ASP and HealthWeb services will include: online delivery of an array of third-party software applications for administrative functions; design, replacement, and maintenance of connectivity infrastructure; data warehousing; and medical management applications that will enable Maxicare to improve quality service while reducing administrative cost.
According to Gail Knopf, senior vice president of operations of HealthWeb, a business unit of TriZetto, “HealthWeb will enable Maxicare to extend its information infrastructure to its trading partners, including physicians, members, and brokers. Empowering Maxicare’s members and providers with direct access to information will result in reduced transaction time and costs as well as enhanced member satisfaction.”
