McAfee, a division of Network Associates Thursday inked a deal with Scandinavian technology company Eterra to offer McAfee’s ASaP line of Web-based managed security services to Eterra customers.
As part of the agreement, Eterra will offer the McAfee ASaP services including anti-virus, firewall, and risk assessment solutions.
The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company says the services incorporate Rumor peer-to-peer technology to automatically and transparently distribute content and software
updates from its VirusScan, CyberCop and PC Firewall ASP products.
“In today’s business environment, where success is often determined by an organization’s ability to communicate with it’s customers and partners, it is imperative that network security solutions are deployed and managed,” says McAfee senior vice president of services development Arvind Narain. “Eterra provides the technology to enable this communication and McAfee provides the technology to ensure protection and eliminate downtime due to a virus or security threats.”
Eterra has been a Network Associates reseller for more than 10 years, and has built a large dedicated technical and sales team around the McAfee and PGP product line.
“Our customers rely on the Internet to conduct business and they turn to us to enable them to do so securely and efficiently,” says Eterra spokesperson Steen Pedersen. “With the McAfee ASaP services, we are able to provide a cost-effective solution that meets those needs without requiring internal resources from our customers.”
