Novell Inc. and
Foundry Networks Tuesday formed a sales and marketing alliance
to provide caching solutions for Internet service providers.
The two companies are working together to provide ISPs with caching
solutions to meet the demands for faster Internet access. The transparent
Web caching solution is available immediately and currently being
demonstrated live at ISPCON Spring ’99 through Thursday.
The Novell Internet Caching System is a scalable, Web acceleration
appliance that increases the capacity of a Web server 10-fold. Caching
systems enable content publishers and ISPs to deploy content-rich web
sites without losing time due to the world wide wait.

companies and carrier-class service providers. As companies implement
increasingly complex Web site, the performance and reliability of the
Internet becomes crucial to provide customers with the responsiveness
they demand,” said Smita Deshpande, Novell’s director of marketing.

can together provide customer with end-to-end web performance
solutions that serve as the foundation for e-business.”
Foundry Networks provide ISPs with high performance Layer 4-7
switching that improves the scalability of Internet services through
server load balancing and cache switching.
