Online print shop iPrint (NASDAQ:IPRT) today (Dec 11) announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with OfficeMax.com, the e-Commerce business unit of OfficeMax Inc. (NYSE:OMX). This agreement extends an existing two-year partnership and allows for the seamless integration of iPrint’s expanded online print shop technology and hosting services into OfficeMax.com. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“iPrint’s XML CommerceConnect is really something new and special in the e-printing world,” said Ryan Vero, president of OfficeMax.com/Direct. “iPrint not only expands the breadth of our product offerings, it lets our customers enjoy true one-stop shopping. That’s a very powerful shopping experience. We’re very excited about this partnership.”
The expanded relationship centers on iPrint’s XML CommerceConnect, an e-printing XML-based integration technology to connect separate commerce websites into a seamlessly integrated shopping experience. iPrint’s technology will allow OfficeMax customers to purchase or reorder business printing directly through the OfficeMax site without going through any intermediary electronic shopping cart, which until now was the only alternative in the e-printing industry. iPrint is the only e-printing company to offer this application program interface (API) shopping technology.
“OfficeMax.com has been hitting a home run since launching,” said Royal P. Farros, chairman and CEO of iPrint. “We’re pleased that our XML CommerceConnect technology is making the customer experience even better. Whether it’s business cards, brochures or bookcases, OfficeMax.com customers can now order everything in a single, simple transaction. We believe this can become the de facto API for online printing.”
iPrint technology currently powers CopyMax, a private-label online print shop where visitors can create a wide array of business and stationery products, gifts and apparel, promotional items, signs and banners and more.
iPrint is the first ASP to provide a complete, interactive creation and online ordering system tailored for the professional printing industry. In addition to licensing the XML-based CommerceConnect API, iPrint offers access to an extensive network of backend printing partners, specialized programming, high capacity hosting, online creation and order fulfillment, secure payment services, multi-leveled customer service and management reporting.
iPrint provides private-label technology, high-volume digital copy services, specialized corporate printing services, and a self-service, online print shop aimed at small- to medium-sized businesses that allows customers to easily design, proof, and order customized business and stationery products, promotional items, and corporate gifts and apparel at prices that are up to 50% less than typical print shop rates.
