PlanetWeb, Concentric in “Default” Deal

PlanetWeb, Inc. and Concentric Network Corp. today
announced a new partnership that makes Concentric the default ISP on future Internet appliance platforms featuring the PlanetWeb Browser.


PlanetWeb’s Browser is currently shipped with the Sega Saturn Net Link, 8×8,
Inc.’s ViaTV Videophone, and Zilog, Inc.’s Internet TV Appliance. Plans call for it to be bundled with Mitsui Comtek Corp.’s Internet screen telephone, which is scheduled for a summer release.

Internet access without the frustration of a PC,” said Mark Fisher, vice president of corporate marketing at Concentric. We are optimistic about
this market segment and have chosen a solid company with a proven
technology to match our own.”


Cupertino, CA-based Internet service provider Concentric provides connectivity and hosting products for both the consumer and business markets.


PlanetWeb in Mountain View, CA is a software developer that incorporates Internet applications into consumer electronic devices. Products include content provider solutions and the PlanetWeb browser which features e-mail and chat tools, as well as a filtering system for parents.
