E-business and convergent communications company RMI.NET, Inc. went on a shopping spree Friday, buying ISP ACES Research Inc. for approximately $2 million as well as the Web hosting assets of Net One Communications Corp.

The ISP is the largest bandwidth provider in southern Arizona.

The acquisition of ACES Research will propel RMI.NET’s regional e-commerce efforts and its national deployment plans for e-SELL, the company’s e-commerce storefront, according to Douglas H. Hanson, RMI.NET’s chairman and chief executive officer. The purchase will also promote RMI.NET’s Internet communications services.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

ACES Research isn’t the first Arizona-based ISP purchase that RMI.NET has in its pocket. Last year, RMI.NET acquired Internet Now!.
