Denver-based RMI.NET, Inc. Tuesday
acquired ImageNet Inc., a Web
hosting and Internet access provider operated based in Loveland, Colo.
ImageNet has approximately 5,000 customers and $1 million in annualized
revenues.
Founded in 1996, the local ISP serves the Interstate 70 corridor from
Denver west to Grand Junction, plus the northern Front Range and Winter
Park areas, which includes resort communities in Vail, Aspen, and Breckenridge.
Although a RNI.NET representative said ImageNet is a
profitable ISP, the firm would not disclose the purchase price of the
company at this time.
Douglas Hanson, RMI.NET chairman and chief executive officer, said the
acquisition of ImageNet allows it to tap into a fast-growing e-commerce
corridor.
“We are delighted to welcome ImageNet’s customers to RMI,” Hanson said. “We
look forward to offering their clients our digital subscriber line service
and suite of Web solutions and e-commerce products.”
Neal Bronsert, ImageNet president, will remain with RMI.NET. Bronsert said
he was excited to be at part of the team.
“The acquisition will allow us to offer better and more reliable service to
our customers,” Bronsert said. “RMI’s national backbone, secure data
center, robust DSL solution, and 24-hour technical support will all benefit
our customers.”
RMI.NET currently provides dial-up services to more than 112,000 customer
nationwide. The company is currently focusing on deploying its high-speed
broadband services in order to further develop its market penetration in
business connectivity and e-commerce services.
