Customer relationship management (CRM) software maker Salesforce.com Monday said Akira Kitamura has joined the company as president of salesforce.com Japan.
A former Centura Software CEO and Oracle executive, Kitamura will be responsible for Salesforce.com’s operations based in Tokyo, Japan where the company currently has more than 200 customers.
“Kitamura was one of our first members of the management of Oracle Japan, and we enjoyed working together building a great business,” said salesforce.com chairman, founder and CEO Marc Benioff. “I am honored that Kitamura has chosen to join me at salesforce.com as we expand our presence in the Japanese marketplace. Kitamura’s vast experience working for multi-national companies will prove invaluable to our Japanese customers and our large, global accounts with a presence in Japan.”
Headquartered in San Francisco, Salesforce.com’s product suite includes its Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition, and Offline Edition.
The company has been building its international presence with operations in the United States, Europe, and now Japan. The company’s customers include Eagle Global Logistics, Adobe Systems, Daiwa Bank, Fujitsu, Le Meridien Hotels, Siemens PT&D, and USA Today.
