SPRYNET to Offer Secure File Backup Service

Internet Service Provider SPRYNET
announced today a new service that will enable its users to backup their PC
files over the Internet.


The Atrieva Service, available through a partnership with Atrieva Corp., will allow SPRYNET subscribers
to backup valuable information stored on their PCs to SPRYNET’s secure
servers. The files can be encrypted and compressed to ensure fast and
secure transmission of content.


“We are extremely excited about our partnership with SPRYNET because of our
shared vision for backup solutions, and SPRYNET’s dedication to offering
value-added service and support to both consumer and business customers,”
said Carol Shade, vice president of marketing, Atrieva.


The service will be available to SPRYNET subscribers beginning January 12,
1998 for a charge of $9.95 per month in addition to their regular fees.
Customers will be able to backup 200 megabytes of data.
