USi Rolls Out Maryland’s eMedicaid Services

USinternetworking, Inc. (USi) , a provider of enterprise and e-commerce software services, today announced its selection by the State of Maryland’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) to deliver secure, online access to the State’s eMedicaid provider enrollment and claims data.

USi is delivering this service in keeping with Maryland’s eGovernment initiative, mandating online delivery of 80 percent of State government services by the year 2004.

“USi supports the State of Maryland’s progressive efforts to automate government services,” says Andrew Stern, USi’s CEO. “USi looks forward to working with the State to make the eMedicaid on-line services rollout a great success.”

The eMedicaid System will reduce the time and cost of health care provider enrollment in the State’s Medicaid program, will provide secure on-line review of claim payments, and will provide a framework for delivering additional Medicaid services online.

USi will provide continuous application management, managed security, and a managed hosting environment governed by a Service Level Agreement (SLA). It hopes to benefit USi clients with its architecture including network services, database and computing platform management services, and integrated security.

Based in Annapolis, Md., USi delivers the functionality of software from Ariba, BroadVision, Lawson, Microsoft, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Plumtree and Siebel, through its iMAP portfolio. USi was named the ASP global market leader by market research firm IDC based on its 2000 revenues.
