Verio Offers Resellers Cash Incentives

Oct 22, 2002

Since the dotcom bust, the pool for potential Web hosting customers has gotten smaller and competition has gotten more fierce. In a move to motivate its reseller partners to migrate more of their customers to NTT/Verio, the Englewood, Colo.-based managed hosting provider today announced the NTT/Verio Consolidator Program.

The program, which is in effect only until Nov. 15, offers resellers serving the small to medium enterprise (SME) hosting market cash incentives to streamline their accounts under the viaVerio reseller program. According to the company, the viaVerio program includes more than 4,500 resellers.

The program will pay viaVerio resellers from $100 to $1000, depending on the plan, for each account they migrate to Verio. In addition, the setup fee is waived. Verio also reports that it will assist resellers who are transitioning a large number of accounts with the migration process.

“Our resellers face time and resource constraints in managing several accounts at various hosting providers, and they need reliable, stable providers who can ensure consistent support for their customers,” said Doug Schneider, president of Verio’s SME Hosting business unit in statement. “We are offering an incentive to help resellers consolidate their SME accounts under one program, simplify their hosting business and receive a cash incentive for doing so.”

The viaVerio is designed to offer resellers a range of Internet services targeting the small and mid-size markets, including Web hosting on a shared, virtual private server or managed private server platform, domain name registration and e-commerce solutions.
