Web-hosting company Verio Inc. Tuesday
joined forces with Xedia
Corp. to offer high-speed Internet access and bandwidth
management services to businesses.
Through the end of May the new Verio service is being pffered with free use
of Xedia hardware to provide businesses with dedicated T3/DS3 Internet
connectivity and enable e-businesses to control bandwidth allocation and
usage, when customers sign-on for two-year contract.
The new bandwidth management solution is based on Xedia’s Access Point
Internet/IP access routers. The hardware will be bundled with Verio’s
dedicated fractional and full rate DS3 Internet connectivity services.
“Internet access is a business-critical asset, and companies need to manage
it to optimize their Internet investment,” said Buddy Cunningham, Verio’s vice
president of sales and marketing. “With Xedia’s Access Point and
our high-performance national Internet backbone, we can deliver a service
that enables customers to more efficiently monitor and manage their access
bandwidth, as well as easily upgrade to higher bandwidth services.”

Verio plans to supports the new service with its national network that
utilizes OC-12, OC-3 and DS-3 links that connect national exchange points
and Verio access points.
