WebSideStory Names New CEO

WebSideStory Inc., a Web-based analytics service provider, yesterday named Jeffrey Lunsford the company’s new president and CEO.

WebSideStory’s HitBox services are designed to help businesses improve online marketing and merchandising by delivering real-time analysis of visitor and customer behavior.

Most recently, Lunsford was president and CEO of TogetherSoft Corp., which was acquired by Borland in January 2003 (see Borland Steps up Acquisition Spree). Lunsford succeeds John J. Hentrich, who served the as president and CEO from December 1999.

“My mission will be to ensure that we build on our market dominance by listening to our customers and continuing our tradition of excellence in innovation, scale and execution,” Lunsford said.

“Jeff is a strong leader with excellent experience in fast-growing technology companies,” said Kurt Jaggers, a WebSideStory board member and managing director at TA Associates, an investor in WebSideStory.

Earlier this month, WebSideStory launched HitBox Decision Mining, a data warehousing service designed to allow customers to extend their collection and storage of online visitor and customer behavior data. According to WebSideStory, HitBox Decision Mining service includes the following features:

  • Outsourced Data Warehousing Clients receive a hosted
    and managed data warehouse of all of their online visitor and
    customer behavior.

  • Data Feed HitBox collects all online visitor and customer data,
    including individual browsing sessions, and provides a raw data feed.
    Enterprises with investments in CRM and other mission-critical
    applications can now integrate a rich set of Web analytics data,
    providing a more complete view of their customers.

  • User-Defined Reporting HitBox DecisionBuilder is a plug-in for Microsoft Excel that allows
    decision makers to access their data and create reports on the fly
    without any technical expertise.
