Oracle today announced that it has integrated its value chain planning (VCP) apps into its JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software through a Process Integration Pack (PIP). The upgrade is targeted at three verticals — manufacturing, high technology, and retail goods distribution, an Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) said Lenley Hensarling, Oracle group vice president and general manager, in an e-mail to InternetNews.com.

“Oracle’s competitors cannot claim the depth and breadth of our planning offering and pre-built integrations to Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP applications, certified by Oracle Development,” Hensarling added.

The PIP brings four key features to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. With sales and operations planning, customers can engage multiple departments, build scenarios, and measure metrics in real time. The inventory optimization feature helps customers determine how much inventory to hold and where to hold it in the supply chain.
