i3 Mobile Tuesday partnered with LAUNCH.com to develop a service that alerts music fans on their mobile phones and other wireless devices when their favorite bands and performers will be playing in their local areas.

i3 Mobile will offer the service for both major and local bands across the United States and Canada. Music fans will be able to specify their favorite bands and performers, and receive alerts on their wireless devices when their choices are playing in their local area. In addition, fans will also be able to choose specific music venues, from concert halls to local bars, and receive schedules of musical performances.

“Partnering with LAUNCH.com allows us to leverage the power of the mobile medium to help fans experience live music,” said Stephen G. Maloney, president and chief executive officer of i3 Mobile.

“With hundreds of bands around the country, live music is one of the ultimate local experiences a person can have, and being able to provide time- and location-specific performance information furthers our mission to provide the best in personalized, localized services to our customers. It also expands our range of services specifically designed for the emerging wireless-savvy youth market.”
