LinkedIn Connects With BlackBerry

In a development that’s long overdue for BlackBerry zealots that are also registered to the LinkedIn professional social networking site, users can now download LinkedIn for BlackBerry to keep abreast of all their connections activities and meetings on the go.

As Enterprise Mobile Today reports, the new mobile applications will include Network Updates that give members a chance to review people, companies and products between or ahead of meetings without having to log onto a PC or laptop.

Company officials said the new Connections module will provide the latest profile information to anyone in a user’s network and the ability to instantly send them a message.

Also, BlackBerry users can now access their LinkedIn Inbox integrated with the mobile device.

LinkedIn officials said the company is committed to regularly updating and improving the mobile apps as the year progresses.

LinkedIn for BlackBerry is a new application from the popular career site designed to help users tap the service on the go. The company said the BlackBerry platform is “a top priority for the LinkedIn mobile team” and to expect regular enhancements and additions to the application throughout 2010.

Chad Whitney, product manager for mobile at LinkedIn, said the new offering is designed to help users “leverage the power of your professional network anywhere, anytime.

“Now you can walk into any interview, any customer engagement or client meeting with the ability to look up the details on over 60 million professionals worldwide, in real-time,” said Whitney in a blog post announcing the application.
