SolidStreaming Inc. has announced a deal with Mobilocity Inc. by which the two companies will provide mobile Internet content delivery strategies.
SolidStreaming has joined Mobilocity’s Mobility Lab, a research and development operation currently forming alliances with providers of mobile Internet hardware, software and services while maintaining a vendor- and platform-neutral approach.
Additionally, the partnership will allow Mobilocity to offer its clients SolidStreaming’s wireless “real time” audio and video delivery applications, which support the two-way transfer of real-time streaming video or audio to a range of existing wireless devices, including mobile phones such as Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)-enabled phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and handheld computers. In return, SolidStreaming will offer its clients access to Mobilocity’s m-business strategic consulting and engineering implementation services.
“As Mobilocity looks to help companies extend their reach to wireless devices, SolidStreaming will prove an important addition to our portfolio of best-in-class mobile Internet solutions,” said Omar Javaid, chief executive officer of Mobilocity. “We are particularly excited to offer our clients in the media and entertainment space the capacity to deliver audio and video content to mobile users.”
“The growth possibilities resulting from this alliance are endless,” said Edward Bronson, SolidStreaming president. “Mobilocity and SolidStreaming share the goal of exploring new ways to make the wireless Internet more meaningful and interesting for users. Working together, we will develop innovative, creative solutions for our clients.”
