RIM Makes BES Express Free for Lotus Domino

Has there ever been a better time to be a mobile IT buyer? Ever since Apple re-energized the smartphone market with the iPhone, there’s been a flurry of competitive models, new features and services.

Now Research In Motion, the company that primarily defined the market for business smartphones with its BlackBerry line, is giving IT more flexible options. As Enterprise Mobile Today reports, RIM’s latest move is to make its BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express available as a free download.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express is a free download that includes 75-plus smartphone controls and IT security policies that are included with RIM’s (NASDAQ: RIMM) premium BES application and supports BlackBerrys on both business and personal data plans.
