Adobe Plans E-Commerce Support Module for GoLive

In a move to further extend its suite of integrated Web tools, Adobe Systems
will release a set of e-commerce and dynamic data modules for Adobe GoLive 4.0,
its professional Web design and publishing tool.

Adobe (ADBE) GoLive Dynamic Link will provide Web teams with a new tool to create visually rich, data-driven sites for doing business on the Web. It
will enable dynamic page design and database binding to be directly implemented from within the Adobe GoLive application. GoLive Dynamic Link will support the e-commerce systems from Microsoft, Sun Microsystems,
Mercantec and Open Market.

“Our goal is to extend the product’s foundation to enable designers to
create and edit e-commerce and dynamic publishing sites from within one
familiar Web authoring tool,” said Bruce Chizen, Adobe’s executive vice president
of worldwide products and marketing.

Adobe GoLive Dynamic Link for ASP will deliver dynamic pages using
Microsoft’s Active Server Pages (ASP) and Sun’s JavaServer Pages (JSP)
technology. GoLive will write ASP code to interact with Microsoft Commerce
Server as well as allow programmers to design customized e-commerce
solutions.

Adobe GoLive Dynamic Link will also be integrated with Mercantec’s
SoftCart and Open Market’s ShopSite.

A beta version of the Adobe GoLive Dynamic Link for ASP module can be downloaded
from Adobe’s Web site. The module requires Adobe GoLive 4.01 software for
Macintosh or Windows, and is available to registered users of Adobe GoLive
4.0.

Adobe GoLive Dynamic Link for JSP technology is planned for release next
spring.

During the next several months, Adobe plans to release modules that support
other server-side scripting languages and a wide range of e-commerce
servers. Next summer, it expects to deliver a software development kit that
will allow third parties to integrate GoLive with their own customer
solutions for e-commerce and dynamic publishing.
