  • As enterprises and developers decide whether it makes sense to move parts or most of their computer infrastructure to the cloud, cloud service providers continue to experiment with new ways to win them over.

Datamation reports that Amazon, one of the early and most successful cloud service providers, is embracing a so-called freemium model, making a year of service available for free to new customers. The article details what else is in the deal and at what point Amazon’s standard charges apply.

Amazon is set to unveil an entry-level tier of its cloud-based Web service that will be available free to new users.
