BEA Systems Inc. Friday released BEA TUXEDO and BEA WebLogic Server for Linux running on Intel-based servers at Linux Expo.

BEA is the first to offer both enterprise middleware and Java application servers for the Linux operating system. BEA TUXEDO and BEA WebLogic Server enable users to develop enterprise applications and instantly deploy them on practically all of the 50-plus platforms supported by BEA.

BEA also announced its new developer promotion in which they are offering potential users a free single-user evaluation license of BEA TUXEDO and a multi-user evaluation license of BEA WebLogic Server. This provides developers with a chance to try out distributed applications on Linux, and the promotional package includes 60 days of free tech support.

With this release, BEA TUXEDO and BEA WebLogic Server for Linux supports Red Hat Linux v 5.2. To download a free evaluation license, or for additional information, visit BEA’s Linux Web site.
