EveryWare Development Inc. introduced Bolero 2 at Spring Comdex this week, a powerful, real-time Web site traffic and analysis tool.
Now in final candidacy and scheduled to begin limited shipping in May, its scalable, open architecture is designed for use in a variety of Internet applications ranging from a single corporate site to an ISP maintaining multiple sites handling millions of hits daily.
Bolero’s automated, real-time Web site traffic summaries can be accessed
instantly to generate fully customized, interactive reports without
requiring the time needed to post-process hundreds of megabytes or
gigabytes of raw log file transaction data.
EveryWare said this provides users with up-to-the-minute Web site information (including performance statistics, trends analysis and user demographics) to assist with key marketing and information technology decision making.
Among the reports available are number of visits, page impressions, click-stream analysis, top entry and exit pages, average visit duration, total megabytes transferred, and top ten scripts and documents. There are over 35 standard reports included with Bolero 2 to allow users to begin their analysis quickly.
The complete Bolero 2 package includes one Bolero Agent supporting one
domain (additional Bolero Agents may be purchased to support multiple
domains), one Bolero Server with an included SQL database, and one Bolero
Reporting System (BRS).
The Bolero Agent gathers site traffic information for transfer to the Bolero Server. The Bolero Server then normalizes the data and inserts it into the Bolero Database where it is transformed into summaries that can be used for a variety of reports.
The BRS is based on the Editor module of EveryWare’s Tango Enterprise
Development Studio and produces the actual reports that can be customized
to the specific needs of the user.
The Bolero Agent operates with the Netscape FastTrack Server 2.0 (or later)
and Netscape Enterprise Server 2.0 (or later) for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
and Sun Solaris 2.51; and Microsoft IIS 3.0 for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.
The Bolero Server, which runs on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, requires a
Pentium 200 (or higher) with 64 MB of RAM (128 MB is recommended) and 1 GB
of available hard disk space if the database resides on the server machine,
and 100 MB of space if the database resides on a separate machine.
Database support includes SQL Server 6.5 with SP3 and Oracle 7.3. The Bolero
Reporting System also runs on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 and requires a Web
browser that supports frames and JavaScript such as Microsoft Internet
Explorer 3.0 (or higher) or Netscape Navigator 3.0 (or higher).
