Codagen Technologies Corp. this week
released the Gen-it for Java code generator.
Gen-it for
Java is the first product to be released in a family of code generators
that allows generation-time control and customization in the development of
enterprise applications.
Gen-it for Java was initially announced and demonstrated at the recent SIGS
Conference for Java Development in San Jose, Calif. The product is now
available for download from the Codagen Web site for an introductory price
of $4,900 per user.
Codagen’s technology utilizes generation instructions known as Generation
Templates which enable developers to:
- generate operations automatically for existing or derived components
that contain repetitive and ‘nearly repetitive’ code
- integrate frameworks with components developed using current modeling
tools and programming languages
Gen-it for Java was designed to reduce the typical time associated with the
coding and maintenance of software applications by allowing developers to
make changes within the modeling tool or at the generator instructions
level. This saves the developer from having to do tedious and error-prone
manual coding. The tool is designed to work with the industry’s leading UML
modeling tools.
