Andover.Net Monday launched
e-Tools, a Web-based application concept that resembles locally-run programs.

Using the GIFWorks Web site, Web designers and
developers can select, process, and create animations directly through their browsers. Since all processing is done on the server with a
familiar Windows-like interface — although it will run on any computer, from
Macs to Linux — there is no download or installation procedure, and the
newest versions are always used.

GIFWorks is free to the user and expands the creative horizon of
Web and design professionals with the following features:

  • GIF optimization lets you decrease the loading time of any GIF — even
animated GIFs — by up to 75 percent by resizing and reducing the number of colors.

  • 3-D animated text creates animated 3-D animated text and banners for
ads, Web site design or buttons with a library of 300 fonts, 216 colors and
    12 special effects.
  • Special effects are also available, including buttonize, shadow,
greyscale, monochrome, 3-D glasses, clone and rotate.
