Gefion Software this week
announced the release of InstantOnline Technology Preview 1.0, a set of new
components and enhancements to its InstantOnline Java Servlet suite.

InstantOnline is a set of Java Servlets that are embedded in Web pages
using “servlet” tags. The servlets run on the server and generate dynamic
HTML, then are merged with static HTML in the Web page where they are
embedded.

InstantOnline provides developers with an alternative to proprietary
server-side technologies such as Microsoft’s Active Server Pages or
Allaire’s Cold Fusion. The product is supported on all major platforms and
contains components used for accessing information from a database and
presenting the data as a table or free-form HTML pattern.

This preview version of InstantOnline Technology includes extended variable
handling, debugging features and enhanced error handling. Additionally, a
set of new servlets is included for file upload and server-side file
manipulation, dynamic forms and sending email.

The shipping release of InstantOnline Basic, version 1.0, initially
released on June 2, retails for $249 for 10 concurrent sessions or $499 for
an unlimited number of concurrent sessions.
