Mercury Interactive Corp., a leading provider of testing tools for client/server, Web, and packaged applications, today announced the industry’s only complete testing solution for Java-based applications with Java support for its integrated suite of automated testing tools.

Mercury Interactive’s Java testing solution includes WinRunner and
XRunner for functional testing of Java clients, LoadRunner for load
testing of Java-based systems, and TestDirector to manage the increased
volume of testing Java-based applications.

Mercury Interactive’s Java solution supports major Java toolkits, including Sun’s AWT, Oracle’s Developer/2000, and Sun’s JFC, with upcoming support for Microsoft’s WFC and Symantec’s Visual Cafe, among others. A single environment is used to work with any mixture of these Java objects.

In addition, users can take advantage of Java’s flexibility with Mercury
Interactive’s open API to test any custom-built Java objects. For example,
users can develop a test with Netscape Navigator on Solaris and run it
without any changes with Microsoft Internet Explorer on Windows 95. This
same script can then be reused for load testing on Windows NT.

LoadRunner provides a scalable load testing solution for Java with the
ability to run hundreds of virtual users, applets, and virtual machines on
a single box. Using LoadRunner, customers can exercise their entire Java
systems to identify performance and capacity problems prior to deployment.
