Lycos, Inc. and Intel Corp. Tuesday announced
that the companies are providing free multimedia tools to both Tripod
and Intel WebOutfitter Service
members.

Lycos’s (LCOS) Tripod offers free streaming services to its members. Using Tripod ShowMotion, which is based on Intel (INTC) Easy Web Media
software, consumers can create and publish multimedia shows for the Web, the firms said.
Intel is featuring the Lycos multimedia application, Tripod ShowMotion as
part of its Intel WebOutfitter Service.

“Tripod ShowMotion provides Web users an easy way to create multimedia
content — video, audio, text and graphics — for the Web, ” said Margaret
Gould Stewart, general manager, personal publishing for Tripod. “Tripod pioneered the
community space, so we’re proud to also lead in delivering multimedia tools
to pagebuilders.”

Tripod ShowMotion provides Web
page builders with content, Web sites, tools and tips designed to maximize
their Internet experience. Via drag-and-drop, ShowMotion provides a way to
create multimedia presentations without programming experience. Combinations
of videos, still images, title cards, voiceovers, and music can be used to
create presentations that are delivered via a streaming format.
