Media Lab Monday unveiled PhotoWebber, a new tool for designing interactive Web pages.

PhotoWebber automatically converts Adobe Photoshop files into finished Web pages, seamlessly converting each Photoshop file into a Web-ready graphic with complete HTML code. This allows graphic designers to give programmers with pre-assmbled templates. The content will retain the original layout once the document is converted to HTML.

The program also:

  • Creates GIF, JPG, and PNG files from Photoshop layers
  • Writes HTML and JavaScript code for page layouts and animated rollover buttons
  • Provides the option to create HTML 3.0 compatible table layouts or use DHTML to position objects on the page

A downloadable version of the program retails for $199 and a CD version for $249 plus shipping. Advance CD orders will ship June 30 although the program can be downloaded now.

More information about the program is available here.
