Oracle Corp. and Wallop Software this
week announced a bundling agreement that integrates Wallop
Build-IT for the Enterprise v2.5–a collaborative
“workbench” used to build and maintain Web sites–with Oracle Application
Server 4.0.
By including Build-IT with the Oracle Application Server, Oracle is
providing customers with a powerful solution that offers a collaborative
means for developing Web components, incorporating them into applications
and then deploying them, providing more reliability for users.
Today’s Web applications are more complex than ever before, requiring a
diverse team of Web developers using an even more diverse set of authoring
tools. One of the solutions to come from this need is the application
server combined with a collaborative workbench environment.
This solution allows development teams to create separate components that
can be
assembled into functional, reliable, dynamic Web applications. This is just
the type of solution that Oracle is looking for by combining the Oracle
Application Server with Wallop Build-IT.
The new agreement allows Oracle to bundle a fully functional, one-user
license of Wallop Build-IT for the Enterprise v2.5 with Oracle Application
Server 4.0. Oracle Application Server 4.0 is currently in beta, and is
planned for a first quarter 98 release.
The beta may be downloaded from the Oracle
Lab Web site.
