The AlphaCONNECT Internet division of AlphaServ.com, which soon will
extolling its technologies under the NQL Solutions name, has incorporated a
new feature into its Network Query Language (NQL) which “leverages the
mobility of the Palm VII.”

Programmers will be able to create and deploy
intelligent agent-based applications from a Palm VII mobile computing
device by using the NQL language.

AlphaCONNECT believes that these agents could perform various tasks
including the retrieval of information from Web sites, the completion of
forms, performance of transactions or almost anything that can be done on
the Net by a human.

The company has combined technology from Palm Computing with its own NQL,
so users can access and control a server-based version of NQL with the Palm
VII–with no additional software needed on the handheld device. Users of
NQL can program NQL functions anywhere within the Palm Computing network.
This capability will be included in the first version of NQL to be
released, which is expected to be during the first part of this year.

AlphaServ.com has been investigating greater NQL development functionality
for the Palm operating system, and has joined the Palm Solution Provider
Program,
which provides members with access to Web resources, development
information and tools, marketing information and opportunities related to
Palm Computing.

NQL is a scripting language that is designed to “streamline the development
of intelligent agents, bots and Web applications.” The NQL developer
package is in a pre-release stage, with plans on introducing the full
release version with pricing information by early this year.
