Thursday announced an agreement with 7th
Street.com to Web-enable, market, and distribute certified
Internet Webmaster certification courses through its Tutorials.com and Learning University Web
sites.
ProsoftTraining.com plans to convert its CIW Foundations track
using the 7th Street.com streaming technology, StreamMaker(TM). The
company also plans to add 7th Street.com’s Learning University to its
own Web site and to offer Learning University as a value-added service
to its classroom-training network.
7th Street.com creates and distributes online, self paced interactive
multimedia training, and a library of “intelligent agents” for use in
education and communication applications. ProsoftTraining.com provides
curriculum and skills-based Internet certification programs. The company
offers more than 50 instructor-led and distance learning Internet skills
courses ranging from one-day end-user workshops to 10-day certification
programs.
The CIW certification program defines the basic job roles and associated
skills required for deploying today’s e-Business solutions. It is a
vendor-neutral program giving participants exposure to the skills and
major technologies in each subject area. The CIW program is comprised
of a foundations credential and seven specialized job-role credentials.
Participants can earn credentials as a site designer, e-commerce
professional, application developer, enterprise developer, server
administrator, Internetworking professional, and security professional.
CIW is only one of a growing number of Internet certification programs,
including the AOP Professional Certificate from the Association of Online Professionals and
the AIP
Certification Accreditation Council program from the Associatioin of Internet
Professionals. The CIW certification
testing program is administered worldwide by Sylvan Prometric.
