Superscape Inc. this week launched its newest 3D software product, Do 3D, and the new companion Web site, Do3d.com.
The company is billing Do 3D as “the new, fast, fun way to build interactive 3D worlds on your PC.”
Do 3D is targeted at the consumer market with a trial download and
free 3D objects available from the site. The tool can be purchased directly
through the Web site, as well as through any of Superscape’s local “Country
Publishers.”
The 3D tool is the newest of Superscape’s 3D software products. For the enterprise level, the company suggest VRT5.50, and for the professional Web
developer, the new 3D Webmaster tool.
Do 3D runs on a standard Pentium PC, and features a series of nine template
worlds, including street, garden, house, and cellar, as well as an extensive 3D warehouse of over 800 pieces of ready-made Virtual Clip Art. Users can
drag-and-drop the objects into the template world of their choice, creating an interactive 3D environment. The worlds can function either as a standalone application or as a 3D (VRML) Web page.
Do 3D is Superscape’s first consumer product since the mid-1980s. Superscape
previously developed a number of innovative 3D computer games, including
Driller and Castle Master, as well as the 3D Construction Kit and VR Studio.
