swURL.net this week announced its URL forwarding service, called swURL. swURL enables users to switch their lengthy and hard to remember URL’s for new, shorter URLs such as hotrods.swURL.net.

By using URL masking, visitors to the forwarded site see the new short URL instead of the previously lengthy one. Other forwarding services such as go.to do not allow users to link directly to a file. swURL.net enables users to link to specific filenames, such as mydomain.com/~user/myfile.htm.

swURL.net plans to offer an extended service called swURL Pro within the next 3 months. For $11.95 a year the service will include URL forwarding and as well as email forwarding. swURL Pro believes their service will provide “all the great features of your own domain name but without the price.”

swURL.net also provides free e-mail support for the swURL redirection service for both swURL or swURL Pro users.
