Ulead Systems, Inc.
this week announced the launch of the Ulead Graphics Optimization Toolkit,
a free online service which enables Web designers to optimize the images
for use on their Web sites.
Similiar to features found in Ulead SmartSaver 3.0, Ulead’s image
optimization utility,
the Graphics Optimization Toolkit uses an interactive, WYSIWYG interface.
This allows users to produce Web-ready GIF, JPEG and PNG images.
In the simple process, users upload the image they wish to optimize and
choose from various preset options. They are able to click the Preview
button which allows them to achieve a balance between quality and file
size. The image can then be saved, providing them with an optimized image
for use on their Web page.
Ulead Systems plans to add more online graphics handling services such as
this to encourage repeat visits and play a leading role in the global Web
graphics design community, according to Lotus Chen, senior vice president
of Ulead Systems.
