Ulead Systems announced the release of Ulead Cool 3D 2.0, the latest version of its text tool product for creating still and animated
titles for Web pages and other applications.
It now offers special effects in addition to features for animation control and individual control over multiple
objects, the company said.
“Easy-to-use software for designing still and animated 3D graphics is in demand by Web designers, digital artists, business presenters, multimedia authors, digital video artists and creative users in general,” said Lewis Liaw, VP of Advanced Engineering for Ulead Systems. “Ulead COOL 3D 2.0 works in real time, so you see your results right on screen without any complex modeling. By simply typing in text or importing objects, then applying settings they like, users will find it extraordinarily easy to produce 3D animated titles, logos and graphics that are truly professional.”
Users can now import Windows Metafile (WMF) files into Cool 3D, and manipulate multiple letters and graphics individually, the vendor said. The software provides the facilities of a sophisticated animation program, allowing users to control the movement and appearance of objects by adding keyframes to a timeline. This technique gives users complete control over their designs and animations.
Cool 3D’s new plug-in architecture will accommodate future add-on products. It currently ships with four plug-in tools for twisting and distorting 3D text, rendering fire and explosion effects, and creating a “mounted” look for logos, buttons and titles.
Cool 3D for Windows 98 and 95 costs $39.95 via electronic download or
$49.95 as a boxed product. Users of version 1.0 may upgrade electronically
for $24.95 or to a boxed version for $29.95.
