Banyan Systems Launches Customized Intranet Tool

Banyan Systems Inc. Tuesday premiered of its new WorkTop,
a tool designed to customize employees’ intranet systems.

WorkTop provides a platform that organizes each user’s
needs into a personal browser-based desktop, the company said. From a customized start page, employees can connect to corporate intranets and extranets, file and e-mail servers and link to relevant industry
organizations and trading partners.

“Banyan has a history of developing innovative solutions that allow companies to operate more
effectively while optimizing IT resources,” said Lex
Crosett, Banyan’s vice president of development and chief
technology officer.

“WorkTop software provides a
cost-effective solution in an easy to install, simple
to use Web-based application that organizes the
information people use every day.”

Banyan Systems has implemented an “Early
Access Program” allowing interested parties to
download WorkTop software free of charge for 60
days. The software is available immediately at the firm’s Web site.
