BMC Software, Inc.is reorganizing of its research and development units into two core units focused on enterprise management, enterprise systems management (ESM) and enterprise data management (EDM). Led by Senior Vice President Dan Barnea, the organization is comprised of all product and technology-related functions and aligns around BMC Software’s core competencies.
The reorganization also includes the creation of five high- potential growth units: storage, security, service provider solutions (SPS), ERP management and Linux.
“This reorganization is an important step in our strategy of simplifying the company and focusing on our core businesses while simultaneously building new franchises,” said Bob Beauchamp, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Houston-based BMC Software. “As a result, our customers will now see an integrated approach from us that reflects how they view and use our industry-leading technology.”
Barnea joined BMC Software in 1999 with the acquisition of New Dimension Software, where he held the post of CEO. Barnea has held several senior management positions in other technology companies including CEO of Laser Industries, general manager for Indigo, and vice president of research and development for Elscint.
